Spring 2025

Spring nectar flow is what we and especially the bees prepare for all year long.  The rains are plentiful and nectar is in abundance.  All we need now is a healthy hive packed full of bees and plenty of extra supers to add to those hives.  We feel our Ozark Cedar Hives give the honey bees the best chance to take advantage of the spring nectar flow.

This year we have added a few new products to the web site.  Each new item we offer we have used in our apiaries and are convinced they are improvements to the already great hive.

Under complete hives on our web site, we are offering 5 frame nuc boxes.  All cedar of course and complete with inner cover and front entrance feeder.

Under the tab covers/feeders/excluders, we offer a sharp looking gable roof.  It not only looks good but has more protection from outside cold weather with a one inch foam board built inside the roof.

We have been using quilt boxes in winter time to give better insulation and moisture control in the hive.  We even include cedar shavings with each quilt box.  Our winter losses lately have been 10 % or less.   You can also find quilt boxes under the covers tab.

Another product we feel helps them winter better is the solid bottom board.  This is not a new product for us but we have seen better bee health with these compared to the screened bottom board for several years now.  They are cheaper and we know you will not find a more durable bottom board anywhere.

Last year a client asked us to make him some robbing screens for the summer dearth.  We think we have come up with a good design and also have added them to our product list under bottom boards.

Please take a look at the new products on the web site.  Please send us any questions you have through our contact page.

Happy beekeeping and may God bless your harvest.
